L/Cpl Roger D. Warren at CAP D-5 before he got shot
283 of 313
from  1965-1965 Vietnam War/Defense Campaign (1965)  album
Warren was wounded by three rounds from an AK-47. All three rounds hit him near the heart. He was carried on a door to the beach where he was loaded onto the fender of an Ontos and driven several miles to our compound. He was then loaded onto the hood of a jeep and driven several more miles to a PF compound in Hoi An. He was then evacuated by chopper . This tough Marine not only lived but actually returned to our unit and finished out his tour.
