Several of us got out to the jump school at Lake Elsinore, Calif., including Terry Davis and Dan Dillon. Rob Onica and I managed to make five jumps before we left Camp Pendleton. We attempted a sixth but high winds resulted in a cancellation.
This is my second or third jump - Oct. 1978. Our first two were from an old WWII-era DC-3. It was like jumping over Normandy! Jumps 3, 4 & 5 were from a little single-engine Norseman. You had to exit the aircraft and stand on a little step before throwing yourself into the slipstream.
