We first established Combat Posts 35 and 69 when we were initially billeted at the Lebanese University Library, the extreme NE edge of our perimeter on 14 Feb, 1983. These posts were to allow us to watch over the eastern edges of "Hooterville" better and to tie us in more directly with the Airport perimeter. They were the scenes of later clashes with the Shiite 'Amal' Militia.
