Comments/Citation:

This is a tribute to my uncle Amos Jules (A.J.)Boudreaux. He was killed in action in Korea in 1952, shortly after arriving in country. He is the reason I became a Marine. I could never really tell people why I wanted to be a Marine, I just felt it was something I had to do. He was killed about a year and 6 months before I was born and my middle name is his first. I never got to meet him but heard all the stories and saw the pictures of him, especially the oil painting of him in his dress blues hanging in my parents' living room. So to me joining the Marine Corps was never a question of why but of when. I couldn't graduate high school soon enough and went to boot in San Diego. That day on the grinder when I had earned the right and was called "Marine" I finally met my uncle. Now my son wears the E.G.A. and has served a tour in Iraq with 1/23. If anyone served with or knew my uncle I would very much like to hear from you. Email - Boo582@aol.com
