From 1st battalion 5th Marines after action report. at 2130 hours the squad patrol was 50 meters from their amush site vicinity of Highway 1 km south of Cape Chon May when they recived small arms fire. Pfc Ronald Adams was killed in action during the firefight from small arms fire.
