Lieutenant Colonel Norton was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He received a Bachelors of Science degree from Union College in 1989 where he majored in social science/secondary education.
He is also a graduate of Infantry Captain's Career Course and Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Norton enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 1990. His first assignment was as an artilleryman in C Battery, 1st Battalion 12th Marines. During this initial tour he participated in combat operations in OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM and deployed to Okinawa and the Republic of the Philippines as part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (1992).
In December 1993 he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant via the Enlisted Commissioning Program.

Major Estes was born in Hannover, Germany and grew up as an Army dependant. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in January 1993. Major Estes earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant through the Platoon Leaders Class in May 1997.
Upon completion of the Basic Officer Course and Infantry Officer Course, Major Estes reported to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in October 1998. While assigned to India Company, he served as a Rifle Platoon Commander for Winter Mountain Warfare Training and Exercise Battle Griffin in Norway, Company Executive Officer for the Unit Deployment Program in Japan, and Company Commander for a Humanitarian Service Deployment for wild-lands firefighting in Montana. Upon returning from the Humanitarian Service Mission, Major Estes relinquished his command of India Company and served as the Battalion’s Assistant Operations Officer.
In January 2001, Major Estes reported to TBS in Quantico, Virginia. While assigned to TBS, Major Estes served as a Basic Officer Course instructor, a platoon commander for Combat Instructor Company, and a Basic Officer Course staff platoon commander. In April 2002 he was assigned to duty as an instructor at the Infantry Officer Course. In September 2004, he attended the Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS).
In May 2005, Major Estes graduated from EWS and assumed command of Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In July 2005, he deployed with Fox Company for Operation Iraqi Freedom II until February 2006. From January to June 2007, he deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Headquarters and Service Company Commander for Battalion Landing Team 2/2.
In July 2007, Major Estes reported to Monterey, California where he attended: the Naval Postgraduate School earning a Masters of Arts in National Security Affairs, the Naval War Collage Command and General Staff Course, and the Defense Foreign Language Institute Basic Tagalog Course. In September 2009 he reported to the U.S. Embassy Manila, Philippines where he served as a Joint Operations Planner for the Joint U.S. Military Assistance Group – Philippines until August 2010.
In September 2010, Major Estes reported to 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, California. From September 2010 to January 2011 he served as the Division Assistant Plans Officer. From January to July 2011, he deployed as an advisor with the Counterinsurgency Advisory and Assistance Team in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Upon his return from Afghanistan, Major Estes joined 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment where he assumed his current duties as the Executive Officer.

Sergeant Major Angelo R. Scott enlisted in the Marine Corps on 9 April, 1985 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC.
Upon completion of initial MOS training, Lance Corporal Scott was assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 202 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC and later assigned to Headquarters and Maintenance Squadron 14 (H&MS-14). While assigned to H&MS-14, Lance Corporal Scott twice deployed to MCAS Iwakuni, Japan and Subic Bay, Philippines as part of the Unit Deployment Program. Deployed in December 1987, Corporal Scott attended the Noncommissioned Officers Course and was designated Honor Graduate upon graduation.
In November of 1990, Sergeant Scott was transferred to NAS Norfolk for duty with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 774 (HMM-774). While assigned to HMM-774, Sergeant Scott deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
In April 1994, Sergeant Scott was transferred to NAS Memphis as a student at the Advance Integrated Weapons Systems Maintenance Course and subsequently was assigned as an instructor. During this tour in which he assisted in the relocation of Aviation Maintenance courses from Millington, TN to NAS Pensacola, Sergeant Scott was promoted to Staff Sergeant, attended the Career Course, and upon graduation was designated an Honor Graduate.
In December 1997, Staff Sergeant Scott returned to MCAS Cherry Point for duty with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14 (MALS-14). He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in February 1999 and served as Squadron Gunnery Sergeant for MALS-14 and as Squadron Gunnery Sergeant for the Aviation Combat Element with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the U.S.S. Nassau. The 24th MEU deployment was highlighted by its participation in Operation Allied Force – Kosovo. During this tour Gunnery Sergeant Scott attended the SNCO Advanced Course and was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate.
From July 2001 through January 2005, Gunnery Sergeant Scott was assigned in Okinawa, Japan where he would serve with both the Command Element of III Marine Expeditionary Force and MALS-36. During this period, Gunnery Sergeant Scott served on CG, III MEF special staff and participated in numerous exercises, to include Cobra Gold, Yama Sakura, and Balikatan, along with supporting events such as the annual commemoration of the Battle of Iwo Jima. While assigned to MALS-36, Gunnery Sergeant Scott served as Squadron Gunnery Sergeant and would stand up, direct, and graduate the unit’s inaugural Corporals Course.
In January 2005 First Sergeant Scott reported for duty at 3d Radio Battalion aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii. During this assignment he served as First Sergeant of both Headquarters and Service and Alpha Companies. In June 2005, First Sergeant Scott deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
From May 2008 through June 2011, Sergeant Major Scott served as Inspector-Instructor Sergeant Major at 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, headquartered in Baltimore, MD.
In July 2011, Sergeant Major Scott reported to Camp Pendleton, CA for his present assignment at 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division.
Sergeant Major Scott’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal ( w/ gold star) , Navy/Marine Corps Commendation medal, the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement medal ( w/ gold star), and Combat Action Ribbon.
