Reflections on Sgt Dajero's US Marine Corps Service

 Reflections On My Service

PLEASE DESCRIBE WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR DECISION TO JOIN THE MARINE CORPS.
Growing up, I always aspired to be a U.S. Marine. My uncle completed boot camp at MCRD San Diego. Just watching his career flourish made me want to join even more. I entered the Delayed Entry Program when I was entering my senior year at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, VA. I was forced to change high schools due to a new campus that was built closer to my home (Tallwood High School). I enjoyed the 9 years I spent in the Marine Corps and it has prepared me for civilian life and as a college student. All of the Marines and Sailors I served with were outstanding.
WHETHER YOU WERE IN THE SERVICE FOR SEVERAL YEARS OR AS A CAREER, PLEASE DESCRIBE THE DIRECTION OR PATH YOU TOOK. WHERE DID YOU GO TO BOOT CAMP AND WHAT UNITS, BASES, SHIPS OR SQUADRONS WERE YOU ASSIGNED TO? WHAT WAS YOUR REASON FOR LEAVING?
The reason I left the Marine Corps was to complete college. It was always a goal for me.
OF ALL YOUR DUTY STATIONS OR ASSIGNMENTS, WHICH ONE DO YOU HAVE FONDEST MEMORIES OF AND WHY? WHICH WAS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE?
My first duty station with MWSS-374 at MCAS Tustin, CA was my favorite as I served with great Marines. I also had a chance to apply and receive secondary MOSs 9954 and 9956. I also completed my initial 40-Hr Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training through the Teamsters at MCAS El Toro, CA.

I do not have a least favorite duty station or assignment.
