 Additional Information
What are you doing now:

I am now fully Retired and enjoying every minute of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Wife and I have just purchased a franchise.Looking forward to getting it off the ground.
Well,we are now running a Senior Homecare in NJ.I find it very heart warming and fulfilling knowing We are helping those who blazed a path in life for us.There are so many Seniors out there, who have worked their entire life building, home, family, security, and a way of life, just to end up selling it all to move into a group home because they need a little assistance. We try to provide them with the help they need to stay home and live out their lives where they feel save and secure.
I feel really good about what we are doing and in some way, hope it makes one life at a time, just a little more pleasant in those final days.

Other Comments:

Thanks to TWS I have made contact with many of the Marines I served with.

Remembrance Profiles - 1 Marine Remembered

Reflections on Sgt Walker's US Marine Corps Service

 Reflections On My Service

PLEASE DESCRIBE WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR DECISION TO JOIN THE MARINE CORPS.
I was influenced by a speech that went "Ask not what your country can do for you,ask what you can do for your country."
WHETHER YOU WERE IN THE SERVICE FOR SEVERAL YEARS OR AS A CAREER, PLEASE DESCRIBE THE DIRECTION OR PATH YOU TOOK. WHERE DID YOU GO TO BOOT CAMP AND WHAT UNITS, BASES, SHIPS OR SQUADRONS WERE YOU ASSIGNED TO? WHAT WAS YOUR REASON FOR LEAVING?
I wanted to be the best at whatever I did in the Marines, and I think I accomplished a great deal for myself and my country.
IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN ANY MILITARY OPERATIONS, INCLUDING COMBAT, HUMANITARIAN AND PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS, PLEASE DESCRIBE THOSE WHICH MADE A LASTING IMPACT ON YOU AND, IF LIFE-CHANGING, IN WHAT WAY?
I served in Vietnam where I had a life changing awakening when I was blown up my a 105 round planted under the road.I realized life is shorter than most care to believe.
OF ALL YOUR DUTY STATIONS OR ASSIGNMENTS, WHICH ONE DO YOU HAVE FONDEST MEMORIES OF AND WHY? WHICH WAS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE?
Quantico Va. The reason being,I got to reunite with brothers returning from combat that I didn't know if they made it home alive or KIA in the jungles.
FROM YOUR ENTIRE MILITARY SERVICE, DESCRIBE ANY MEMORIES YOU STILL REFLECT BACK ON TO THIS DAY.
The true brotherhood and caring we had for each other while in Vietnam.I just wonder why we as Americans can't be that way on a daily basis.
OF ALL THE MEDALS, AWARDS, FORMAL PRESENTATIONS AND QUALIFICATION BADGES YOU RECEIVED, OR OTHER MEMORABILIA, WHICH ONE IS THE MOST MEANINGFUL TO YOU AND WHY?
I have a fond spot for the one I received from my state of New Jersey for my service.I also hold my 'Purple Heart' in high regard realizing how close death's door was.
WHICH INDIVIDUAL(S) FROM YOUR TIME IN THE MILITARY STAND OUT AS HAVING THE MOST POSITIVE IMPACT ON YOU AND WHY?
My Senior Drill Instructor will always be my most looked up to Marine. He told me in boot camp, that the only thing that could ever hold me back, would be myself.I have remembered and applied it my entire life.
CAN YOU RECOUNT A PARTICULAR INCIDENT FROM YOUR SERVICE, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN FUNNY AT THE TIME, BUT STILL MAKES YOU LAUGH?
Half of the things in boot camp.
WHAT PROFESSION DID YOU FOLLOW AFTER YOUR MILITARY SERVICE AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW? IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY SERVING, WHAT IS YOUR PRESENT OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY?
I was always a leader in a Supervisor roll mostly in production.I worked for Campbell Soup as a production supervisor right out of service, and continued in supervision for a major bottlling company for 20 years.
IN WHAT WAYS HAS SERVING IN THE MILITARY INFLUENCED THE WAY YOU HAVE APPROACHED YOUR LIFE AND YOUR CAREER? WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST ABOUT YOUR TIME IN THE SERVICE?
Relating back to what I was told and taught in boot camp, made my appoach to civilian life much easier.I can deal with people a lot better than most and realize they can never put me through what I survived in boot.
BASED ON YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THOSE WHO HAVE RECENTLY JOINED THE MARINE CORPS?
Respect yourself and what you do on a daily basis. You have the power to become whatever you desire as long as you are willing to do what it takes to get there.
IN WHAT WAYS HAS TOGETHERWESERVED.COM HELPED YOU REMEMBER YOUR MILITARY SERVICE AND THE FRIENDS YOU SERVED WITH.
I have become friends with other Marines who share a common bond.I have reached Marines I went through boot and served with through TWS that I never would have found.
