They recently found cancer in my colon late 2006. Great news - radiation, chemo and removing about a foot (no bag required) took care of the problem in early 2017..
I just participated in the 2018 Route 66 Fun Run from Seligman AZ to Topock AZ in the sweet 1987 Corvette that I purchased on the Marine Corp's Birthday.
Attended the Commandants Marine Corps Ball in 2016
I had a four-way heart bypass on my 81st birthday. I am successfully into my second month of a three month process of healing and all is going well
Worst Moment I think there were too many to list.. The one that always comes to mind is the first day the DI allowed a smoke after noon chow. He said - "One Cigarette and one cigarette only" Well, I was the third recruit out of the mess hall and my cigarette was long gone by the time 1/2 of our platoon finished chow. When the guy next to me lit up and it drifted into my face - I could not resist and smoked my second one. About 15 minutes later the DI walked up to me and looked down into my pocket (we were wearing the "old corps utilities" and the pocket did not have a flap. He asked how many I smoked and I said two sir. He Yelled "PRIVATE DO YOU LIKE YOUR CIGARETTES" to which I replied Sir, Yes Sir. and then he said the horrible words -- Eat the &**^&%$# pack. I ate it like a hersey bar and by bite three I was up chucking with every bite....
