Following WWII, W.C. "Red" McDowell worked for a time in the aircraft industry, and later with the San Bernadino County (CA) Sheriff's Department for many years.
Other Memories A licensed pilot, but deemed 'too tall' for assignment as an Aviator.
Joined the USMCR at end of October 1942. Enlisted processing was at the Department of Health Services of Los Angeles County, CA. Took the Oath of Enlistment at that place/time.
