The 3rdDiv Command Chronology for July 1967 contains the following: The North Vietnamese had given way as the Marines moved north to the Ben Hai River, but they moved back in behind the Marines and were prepared to engage them as they withdrew from the DMZ. The Bulk of the fighting on 29 July took place near Thon Cam Son. about 5 kilometers north northwest of Con Thien (Hill 158) and cost the lives of 41 KIA and 355 WIA Marines. 2nd Lt Kisch was KIA in this action.
