Then, Sergeant Boyce Jackson USMC was one of the Drill Instructors assigned to Platoon 276, Company B, 1st Recruit Training Battalion at MCRD Parris Island while we were undergoing training to become Marines. He was assigned to our Platoon at the Rifle Range for about three weeks, and made a positive impact on our Platoon.
He was assigned to Special Training Platoon (AKA: "Fat Man Platoon" ) before he was posted with Plt 276. David Greenwood, Joseph Rainville, and "Big" Ed Butler were in that platoon and recycled to Plt 276. All 3 were insisting we locate Sgt. Jackson. It took three years of searching to find Boyce Jackson. One fine moment, and he gave a special spirit to our reunions along with wife, Be a.
It is nice to call him friend.
Semper Fidelis,
