Eldridge was born in Havertown and lived there all of his life,until he enlisted in the Marines 2 October 1964,at a Philadelphia Recruiting Office. Arriving in Vietnam he was assigned to Alpha Company,3rd Engineer Battalion,3rd Marine Division.Eldridge was with a mine sweep team on Route 538 when they were ambushed by hostile forces at Triem Trung,4 kilometers east of Dien Ban.Eldridge died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the body from a hostile explosive device. He served his country for at least 2 years. Tour of duty unknown. Survived by his parents,Eldridge & Margaret D Aigeldinger of 31 Brookline Blvd,Havertown, PA.
