Killed as the result of NVA mortar rounds hitting a Marines 88mm mortar ammo dump in a defensive location near Cam Lo, Quang Tri Province, which caused explosions and fires. Skaggs (1950-1969), St Paul, Minnesota; LCP Paul A. Graff (1949-1969), Sunnyvale, California; LCPL Michael A. Powell (1949-1969), Atlanta, Georgia; PFC Jimmy K. Church (1948-1969), Columbus, Ohio; PFC Keith A. Kahstorf, Britt, Iowa; PFC Edward T. O'Donovan, Chicago, Illinois; PFC Jim J. Walaters, Sioux Citey, Iowa; PFC LeRoy C. Williams, Jacsonville, Florida, and, LCPL John Winters, Clark, New Jersey.
