Zack was born in Gainesville and raised in Clermont until he enlisted in the Marines 17 July 1967,at the Atlanta Recruiting Office. Zack left for Vietnam and arrived there 19 December 1967,where he was assigned to Mike Company,3rd Battalion,4th Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division. The company was participating in Operation Scotland II when they engaged hostile forces in the vicinity of Hill 689,4 kilometers west southwest of the Khe Sanh Airfield.Zack died as a result of a gunshot wound to the body from hostile rifle fire and fragmentation wounds to the body. Survived by his parents,Addision S & Lillie R Addington and his older brother,Addison S of Box 134,Clermont,GA.
