Arnold was born and raised in Austin,where
he graduated with the Class of 1963 from
Johnston High School.
He enlisted in the Marines 30 November 1963,
at the San Antonio Recruiting Office.
Arnold was stationed at Camp Pendleton,when
he married Concepcion.
He arrived in Vietnam 20 February 1968,and
was assigned to 2nd Platoon,Kilo Company,3rd Battalion,27th Marine Regiment,1st Marine
Division.
While on a combat patrol a booby trapped shell
was tripped.Arnold died as a result of frag-
mentation wounds to the body,8 kilometers
north northeast of Dien Ban.
Arnold was married and served his country for
4 years,4 months and 22 days.KIA#26,038.
He was 22 years,9 months and 11 days old.
Whatever hopes and dreams Arnold had for his
future,died with him in Vietnam.Arnold was the
first Austinite to died in Vietnam.
Survived by his wife;Concepcion Aguilar of 602
N Cleveland St,Oceanside,CA.
His mother;Candida Gonzales Aguilar and a
sister;Arnulfa of 19 Salina St,Austin,TX.

His father;Sebastion Aguilar,was deceased.
