Last Known Activity:

Col. Batterton retired from the USMC in 1966.  In 1970 he accepted the position of Principal of Clarke County High School (VA).  He remained in this position until hisretirement in 1981.  He would then open a horse trailer sales business from his home i Berryville, VA.  He died from coplications of Parkinson's Disease n 2012.

   
Other Comments:

Col. Batterton wrote two books: "You Fight by the Book" and "Random Notes from Korea".
