oc birmingham enlisted in the marines in 1958 with his friend bob smith on the buddy plan. bob went to tanks. oc to aviation electronics school at millington tenn. he served at beaufort and reenlisted shipped for 6 and electronics b school in 1960. after b school he went on a westpac cruise on the uss oriskany as a electronics chief incharge of aircraft electronics. he was injured in a mishap and crushed his pivot cup in right ankle. he retired from general electric in 2005 at dallas texas after a long career. he died in 2010 due to lung cancer!!!!!!!!! oc led the way for his two brothers to serve as marines , don and andy birmingham... there parents jean and marvin were really proud of the three marines they raised,
