LtGen Carson retired from the USMC in 1993. He retired to Middlesex County in 1990. The General died on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000 at home in Hartfield and was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery with full-military honors.

Despite all the jokes we all used to make about supply and administration, none of us would have been anywhere, or done anything, without those hard-working Marinres. In that spirit, I think I can say "RIP, Quartermaster General -we were nothing without you!".
