Upon his discharge in 1780, Pvt Ames left Connecticut and settled in Plymouth, New York with his family.  Ames worked as farmer for the rest of his life.  He was placed on the military pension rolls in 1818.  His pension allowance was $96.00/year.

   
Other Comments:

Pvt. Ames enlisted on-board the USS Confederacy at New London, Connecticut in 1776.  He served aboard the ship until 1779, when he joined Capt. Hardy's Marines.  He was Honorably discharged in Philadelphia in1780.
