Best Friends
GySgt Edmond Hodge and CWO-4 Underwood

Best Moment
Going to the various factory schools in preparation to receiving the Bell AH-1J Cobra Helicopter. Went to Burlington, VT, Hearst, TX. Toile, UT.

   

Worst Moment
Almost losing my index finger in the sprocket of the delinker while in school for the gun at Burington, VT. Stupid mistake on my part. Broke the factory safety record of 3 years. Very embarassing.

Other Memories
Flying to Glenview, Ill with Capt McVay to fix a TACAN on an OV-10A. Hands got so cold, they almost froze to the refueling nozzle when I refueled our OV-10 prior to returning to New River. Wind chill factor was well below zero. Also the Squadron deployment to Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico was fun. Stayed there for 30 days. Great Liberty for at least 1 weekend while we were there. I also served as the Line Chief when the Squadron was short on SNCO Mechanics.
