  The Marine Corps Institute (MCI) is located in the historic Washington Navy Yard in the Nation's Capitol. MCI is administratively organized as part of Marine Barracks, Washington DC and supports the Barracks.
           
   The commanding officer of Marine Barracks carries the additional duty of Director, Marine Corps Institute. The Marine Corps Institute receives direction from Commanding General, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Quantico VA.

I recall the Friday evening sun set parades. Would have enjoyed watching it instead of participating in it.

We would also be called up to provide funeral details for burials at Arlington National Cemetery.

Enjoyed the job of correspondence instructor in the Airpilot's Course that I had completed.

December 1949, I reenlisted for duty at Naval Ammunition Depot McAlester, OK. However, I was only there for six months and then transferred to 1stMarDiv
