1st Bn, 11th Marines (1/11)
1st Battalion, 11th Marines is a 155MM Howitzer Battalion comprised of Firing Batteries and a Headquarters Battery. The Primary Mission is the Direct Support of the 1st Marine Division.  That support may come in the traditional fashion of artillery support to maneuver forces, or by providing batteries to serve as provisional rifle companies. The Battalion has transitioned from the M198 Howitzer which has a range of 30km to the M777 which is 42% lighter at 9,200lbs
