I was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds recieved on Feb 12,1944, Roi-Namur, Marshall Islands.The Japs made a massive air raid that left 26 Marines Killed and 130 Marines and Sea-Bees wounded,I was one of the Wounded.I am standing next to a steel re-enforced Concrete building that was destroyed by Naval Shelling. This Picture was taken after I returned from Aiea Heights Naval Hospital at Pearl Harbor.
