Facing out from the fort the view was of the village of Dai Loc, the district headquarters. The site of much combat action between the French and the Viet Minh and later between the Marines and insurgent communist forces of Vietnam. It was headquarters for the 3rd Battalion 7th Marines in 1967-68-69 Vietnam War.
