A short 30 day stay in Okinawa to reorganize, re equip and some field exercises, then back to Vietnam to do some more ass kicking and taking names. At this time, my rifle platoon was taken away from me, and I was reassigned as Company Wpn Plt Cmndr. Now I had no troops to lead, but I was able to assist my CO with operation of the company, as we had no XO. This was a real "pisser" to loose my platoon, but- "To accomplish the mission." Personal feelings had to be put aside.
