Comedian Jonathan Winters looked at the "Mark Twain Prize" after he received the award at the Kennedy Center in Washington, Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999. The Kennedy Center organized the celebration of American humor and created the award to recognize "those who create humor from their uniquely American experiences."
