The Marine Embassy Guard Association is comprised of United States Marine Corps MCESC Personnel (Marine Security Guards and Company Command Personnel) who have served or are currently serving in U.S. Diplomatic Missions worldwide. Associate Members include former/serving Foreign Service brothers and sisters, families and those with an interest in the MSG Program's unique service to our Country, the Department of State, the Bureau of Diplomatic Security and the United States Marine Corps.
The association between the Department of State and the United States Marine Corps dates back to the very beginnings of our great nation. This includes our Legation Guards in China, Nicaragua and all who have served to protect American classified material, lives and property throughout the world. Unfortunately in many cases at the risk or loss of their lives.
Since inception of the post WWII Department of State - United States Marine Corps Memorandum of Agreement in 1948 and initial deployment in January 1949 to U.S. Diplomatic Missions worldwide, our MSG Program personnel, DOS State Department Foreign Service and Bureau of Diplomatic Security partners continue to present the "Face" of the United States of America throughout the far reaches of the world with honor, commitment, compassion and enthusiasm for all the positive things the United States stands for and represents.

The MEGA 09 Reunion was held in Alexandria VA in mid May this year. Events included attending the MCESG MSG School Class 3-09 Graduation Ceremonies and Reception, a visit to the Quantico PX, the Museum of the Marine Corps and our annual banquet. Former CMC Paul X. Kelley attended the banquet along with the MSG School OIC and several of his staff. An engraved NCO Sword was presented to Jack McGarry, the founder of our "world class" Historical Archives effort to document our unique service to Country, Corps and the MSG Program. Jack continues to be an important part of our archives leadership. Our MEGA Scholarship Auction generated much appreciated funds to further our MEGA charitable endeavors. Contributors included retired Marine Corps General Peter Pace, 16th Chairman of the JCS and items included remembrances from former CMC General Robert Cushman. Great weather, great people, a great venue and the opportunity for many of us MSGs to see Quantico for the first time or return and renew memories. Be sure to mark your calendar for next year's reunion, it will be difficult to improve on this years but I am sure we can do it.
