I believe these pictures were actually taken at Camp Lejune, after our return from the Caribbean cruise.
1st LT. Sweeney was a great Company Commander. He commanded the best company in the Marine Corps at the time. The awards proved it.
The whole Battalion passed in review on this day.
The Greatest surprise of all was when LT. Sweeney announced that Chesty Puller was there and he wanted to meet the members of the top Marine squad.
Chesty walked our ranks stopping in front of each Marine and speaking briefly, then shook each Marine's hand.
I was so excited, I almost soiled myself!
It was a great day for this Marine!
