The view from highway #1 of the West end of the original runway with the tower adjacent. From 1966-70 this was home to Marine Air Group 36; the bulk of the helicopters that provided support to Marine units North of Danang flew from here. The runway on the left is new and between it and the old strip is where all the barracks, bunkers and squadron headquarters were located. Nothing is remaining to indicate we were ever there.
