Last Known Activity:

Then 1st Lt. Wayne Christian was returning at night to Henderson Field, Guadalcanal after a combat mission (patrolling near the USS Chicago CA-29).  He and another Marine pilot, Lt. Glen Loban, collided, killing both when they crashed into the bay. Their remains were not recovered.

In 1942, he was based initially with VMSB-151, MAG-13, FMAW, Defense Force, Tutuila, Samoa. Then engaged with the invasion/occupation of Guadalcanal in the VMO-155.
