Last Known Activity
Sgt. Sollars entered the Marine Corps on 21 April 1944, entering at age 16.  He served as part of the occupation forces ion Okinawa with MAG-31, 17 September 1945 - 4 July 1946, as a radio repairman.

Following the War, he married Ellen C. Donnelly whom he'd met in Washington, D.C., going on inactive reserves.  They moved to Montana where he and Ellen created a new life. 

He was called back to active duty in June 1950.  He received combat training at Camp Pendleton, joining the 1st Marine Division.  He served as a forward observer  from 2nd Battery, attached to B Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines when he was killed near Posan by a mortar round.

He left his wife and three children.
