Last Known Activity
He was initially reported as Missing-In-Action and later determined as Killed-In-Action at the Battle of Saipan; however, he is still recorded on the MIA Wall (4th Marine Division - Saipan) in Hawaii. 

The KIA was reported in the 24 July 1944 edition of the Wisconsin State Journal (see the quoted below).
