Last Known Activity
Sgt Robert Alsup was killed in action on Iwo Jima during Operation Detachment. On February 24, 1945, one day after the flag raising on Mount Suribachi, the Marines were engaged in the battle for the central Airfield. Sgt Alsup was killed in action during this battle.
