In Korea, Cpl. Totten served with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines.

He was killed in action near the Majon-Dong-Sudong MSR, at Sudong, Korea.

He was interred in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.  His wife, Betty, was interred in the same grave in 1983.
