US Marine CPL Herbert Gordan Taylor, Vietnam Veteran, a native of Roanoke Rapids NC, enlisted in Ahoskie, N.C.  He was killed by an explosive devision while in a defensive position.

He is the son of Pleasant Henry & Elsie Allen Taylor, Route #3, Box 188A, Ahoskie, NC. He has a brother Pleasant Jr and Janet Lear Taylor, and a graduate of Ahoskie High School and a member of Brantley's Grove Baptist Church.
