At 0430 hour the emeny fired 100 round of automatic rifle rounds, they were close enough to throw granades into the perimeter.  At the end of the brief, but intense firefight the enemy was driven back by Marine small arms fire, machine gun fire and 60mm mortars.  The rsults were: 14 USMC KIA, 15 USMC WIA, 19 VC KIA and 1 VC WIA.

This Brother was with Delta Company 1st Battalion 5th Marines 1st Marine Division FMF.  He is missed and will never be forgotten!  His fellow Marines and Family love him!  On 9 Sept 2009 in Gettysburg, Pa. at the Delta Company Reunion Memorial Service his name will be read, along with all Brothers that have past.  All are invited!  Jim Davlin Frank was my friend.  I knew him in Hawaii before we were setn to Vietnam.  I miss him and wish he was still with us now Mike Moore
