I didn't personally know 1stLT Neuss, but had seen him numerous times with the CP Group. The 60mm Mortars were generally close to the CP Group in the FIELD. Sometimes, 1stLT Neuss would stand up and look out shading his eyes with his right hand(sorta Tonto style), when activity was ahead of us. I remember him being Tall, and telling the other Mortar guys he should be Down. I feel he deserves a page at TWS, and didn't know till the last few years that he was Promoted to Captain and Awarded the Silver Star both Posthumously. He is on the WALL at Panel 27E- Row 091. He is also on the C/1/3 Daily Logs with Casualties I received from the HQ Marines. Rest in PEACE Captain.
