October 2011 USS Laffey Reunion

When making your plans to attend the reunion this year, think about showing up a couple of days early and see some of the historic sites that we won't be getting to see during our short stay.
In Savannah, Georgia, you can explore the gorgeous historic downtown district, rich cultural and art offerings, River Boat Cruise, vibrant nightlife and friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Not to mention great food!
There are a number of Great Museums, Ghost tours and Savannah's Oktoberfest will conclude October 2 at 6pm.
The Trolley company is giving us coupons that can be used when you have some free time and need transportation downtown.
Sunday Night, October 2
7-10 pm Meet & Greet
Join us in the Hospitality room for a bite to eat. We'll get you signed in while you get reacquainted with some old friends and maybe meet some new ones.
Monday, October 3
09:30 am
Gather together to take a trip into the past. We'll hop aboard a Trolley, first stop is The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist to hold a service at 10:00 am to honor our fallen comrades. One of the Trolleys is handi-capped accessible. Let us know if you need a seat reserved on that Trolley. Please let us know what we can do to help ensure your Reunion is the best it can be.
We'll enjoy lunch on River Street, after lunch you can wander for a while before the Trolley picks us up for a tour of Savannah's Historic District on our return to the hotel.
6:30 pm Laffey Fun Night
Come on over to the Hospitality room for some fun. We have taken the "Liberty" of changing some games and have put a "Laffey" twist on them to make them our own. We can't say more because we don't want to spoil the fun. Dress code for Laffey fun night is casual but we would like everyone to be comfortable and wear their team jerseys or t-shirt for any team that they might cheer for. Just a suggestion, not necessary. We are thinking that this might get everyone relaxed and help strike up a lot of conversation. Any team, football, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, etc. (Hats or Shirts) No cleats --- Please!
Tuesday, October 4

Hey Y'All Yep. You guessed it.
We will board the trolleys again and we're going to Paula Deen's - Lady and 2 Sons Restaurant for dinner.
NOTE: They can only accommodate a group of up to 100 people. Just in case our group this year exceeds that number. To make it fair, the 1st 100 people that are signed up and have paid in full will be on the list. Never fear-if there are more people we won't make you go hungry, we will have other arrangements for dinner.
After dinner we will go to The Historic Savannah Theater to see a high energy music, dance comedy "Southern Nights".

Free Time for you to take in some sites on your own around the beautiful city or hang in the Hospitality Room with friends
